Cranberry Ham and Cheese Sliders
Whole-wheat rolls and lean ham give each little sandwich a useful protein-and-fiber boost, while cranberry sauce brings the holiday sparkle without needing a sugary glaze. I tuck Swiss cheese inside,…
Ingredients
- 1 (12-count) package whole-wheat Hawaiian rolls
- 12 ounces thinly sliced lean ham
- 6 slices Swiss cheese slices
- 1/2 cup whole-berry cranberry sauce
- 1 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Heat the oven to 350°F. Lightly coat a 9-by-13-inch baking pan with cooking spray or a thin swipe of butter.
- Without separating the rolls, slice the entire package horizontally through the middle. Place the bottom half in the prepared pan.
- Spread the cranberry sauce over the cut side of the rolls. Layer the ham evenly over the cranberry sauce, then cover with the Swiss cheese.
- Place the top half of the rolls over the filling. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, poppy seeds, and garlic powder.
- Brush the butter mixture generously over the tops and sides of the rolls. Cover the pan with foil so the sandwiches stay soft while the cheese melts.
- Bake for 15 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for 3 to 5 minutes more, until the tops are lightly browned and the cheese is fully melted.
- Rest the tray for 5 minutes, then cut between the rolls and arrange the sliders on a festive serving platter. Offer extra cranberry sauce on the side for dipping.
